Hi,

I am looking to move our company over to MS SBS 2008 Premium. This ships
with SQL 2008. Does anyone know if Navision 4.0 SP2 has a problem
connecting to a SQL 2008 database?

TIA,

Jarryd

You better do a technical upgrade to 4.0 SP3 or 5.0 SP1. This message I
found on Partnersource (the support site for Microsoft partners):

<start quote>
Microsoft Dynamics NAV Compatibility with Microsoft Windows Server 2008
Microsoft Dynamics NAV 4.0 SP3 and Microsoft Dynamics NAV 5.0 SP1 now run on
Windows Server 2008. Testing of compatibility of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 4.0
SP3 and Microsoft Dynamics NAV 5.0 SP1 with Windows Server 2008 has been
finalized, and the test results were positive.
<end quote>

That quote refers to WINDOWS 2008, not SQL 2008.

I am still waiting on final word that any version of NAV is supported on SQL
SERVER 2008. If it is, I have not seen the announcement.

Genius awesome, phew, what a relief. I am going to be running through this
is in the next couple of weeks and will post any caveats I come across and
tips and tricks I come up with, if that's useful to anyone. Thanks again
for all your responses.

Jarryd.

I'm looking forward to that feedback, as i'm upgrading a bunch of database
myself at the moment... .
No issues whatsoever (until now).

ps, thanks for adding my link, Daniel :-)
